Happy Birthday to you!

My daughter and my mother share birthdays in July and it takes a lot of careful planning on my part to make sure everyone is happy and feels full. Full of life and full in their belly, thus being happy. This year we thought it was a fun idea to register for the free things you can receive just for being born and I will share it with you.

Whether you live in Hamilton, Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Halifax, Montreal, Fredericton, St. John’s, or anywhere in-between, there’s always a place you can stop by to claim freebies on your birthday. Sometimes you can get a free gift weeks or days before your birthday, all you need to do is show up in-store to claim it. Just remember you will need to show a valid ID, of course.

After driving around Ontario with my mom and my daughter, I decided to share a few of my finds;

If you sign up for at IHOP (in Niagara Falls, Ontario) or Denny’s loyalty program, they will give you a free Original Grand Slam meal consisting of pancakes, sausages, bacon, and eggs.

These guys are a little more tricky, but it worked for us as my dad joined us. The Mandarin has a free birthday feast (you must sign up for their newsletter) and will sing happy birthday to you. But you will need to be accompanied by 3 paying adults to redeem your freebie.

At What A Bagel, if you buy 6 bagels, you get another 6 for your birthday.

Boston Pizza and Montana's gives you free desert and when you sign up for their emails, you receive a free appetizer.

We all know about Baskin Robbins birthday cone right? Yup, you can get one for free on your bday.

The drink spots also have free things for your special day. Starbucks and Davids Tea will give you a free beverage on your birthday if you sign up for their rewards program.

So as you see you have to sign up for emails and notifications, but out of the Pandemic, this was a fun day to explore the city and be with my family. Happy birthday!
