My Musical Journey
The first band I was in was called “It is What it Is”, and we played originals we created and a lot of covers. Its why I love Donald Fagen, Billy Joel, and Stevie Wonder so much. I got the opportunity to work with musicians who created music beyond my scope. And that made me learn the industry from the ground up. Everyone played an instrument, and I was the lead singer. I developed my songwriting by learning what was needed in the music at the time. And it was there that I developed a passion for music.
I remember spending a lot of time playing and listening to some great jazz musicians, Miles Davis, Keith Jarrett and a lot of others. I grew up in a Caribbean household and was indoctrinated into the music of gospel, reggae and radio top 40. And when you grow up in Hamilton, Ontario; you are going to hear a lot of alternative and rock music. I love it all.
I learned how to produce music during the Pandemic. It was then that I could take time and play each note, each button, each knob, until I knew how to record what I wanted. Then I'd go to mix and master it in my favourite studio.
I've only created 4 songs so far, but one of them has over 25K views so it makes me feel like I'm going in the right direction. I have many many more tracks to release.
Now that the kids are back in school, there’s never a wasted moment. I am now trying my best to release music as often as I can. Thank you for your support.
